FMGreen Tips




In response to the growing concerns about climate change, also referred to as global warming, and its impact on the stability of our environment, Fogelman Management Group (FMG) has developed a “Green” campaign to promote environmental awareness at each of our communities. This program is called FMGreen.  With simple everyday life changes, we can improve the planet we share and each month, "Green" tips will be shared on this site.    

 

 

 

FMGreen Tips:

 

 

  • Use the microwave to cook small meals- it uses about 50% less power than an oven

     

  • Don’t peek in the oven- opening the oven door can lower the internal temperature by 25 degrees and lengthen the cooking time

     

  • Scrape rather than rinse dishes before loading them into the dishwasher

     

  • Keep drinking water in the refrigerator instead of letting the faucet run until the water is cool

     

  • Wash only full loads of laundry or choose the appropriate water level on the washing machine

     

  • Turn off lights and appliances when you leave the room

     

  • Paper or Plastic? Neither!  The most earth-friendly choice for bagging your groceries is reusable bags.  These handy bags can be found at most grocery chains and are durable enough to last for years.  These bags help conserve precious resources that would otherwise be used to manufacture and transport paper or plastic bags to the store.  Additionally, using these bags will reduce the amount of materials going to landfills.
